Warren Buffett and training
On the recent BBC 2 programme about Warren Buffett where the links between Emotional Intelligence and the returns on investment, he claimed that Dale Carnegie's philosophies in 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' and associated training had a big impact.
In watching that programme it was clear that he used a huge amount of Emotional Intelligence.
He knows exactly when to use emotion and when to control emotion.
He recognises emotion in others and even more importantly he elicits the right emotions in others.
What a fantastic example of the business benefits of 'soft skills' and in particular the power of emotional intelligence. Could this be the real secret to his success?
Bad moods 'boost memory and judgement'

A study, authored by psychology professor Joseph Forgas at the University of New South Wales, showed that people in a bad mood were more critical of, and paid more attention to, their surroundings than happier people, who were more likely to believe anything they were told.
