Level 2 - Certificate in Team Leading

The Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading Programme consists of 7 half-day group workshops, taking place over a period of 14 weeks, with some self-study time (typically about 6-8 hours a month) between workshops.

The units we have selected to create our certificate programme are shown, in order of completion below, after a short induction to the programme you will spend two half-days on each unit with some linking work in between.


2008 - Being a Team Leader Credits – 5 Guided Learning hours – 25

Learning Outcomes:

1. Understand the Organisational requirements for the team leader

2. Be able to understand Leadership Styles

3. Understand how the team leader builds a shared sense of purpose with the team


2002 - Team Communications Credits – 5 Guided Learning hours – 20

Learning Outcomes:

1.Understand the role of communication in Leading a Team

2.Know how to organise team briefings

3.Know how to lead Team Briefings


2006 – Team Development Credits – 6 Guided Learning Hours – 20

Learning Outcomes:

1. Be able to plan and implement induction for a new team member

2. Be able to identify and plan the training needs of team members

3. Be able to train a team member to carry out a task

You will be given lots of guidance and support for the self-study, so that you know exactly what you need to do. All the assessments of learning take place during the group workshops, and you will have a Personal Tutor that you can call on for help and guidance along the way.
